Summary
The Sub-Crypts are the ancient graveyards of the planets ruling class from well before its modern incarnation, tradition of the various aristocracies dictated that their dead be buried within the soil of that which they ruled over. This resulted in a literal city being constructed beneath surface, housing millions upon millions of tombs and crypts, some with glorious pathways illuminated by ever burning torches and shinning archways, while others have fallen dark and are used for more nefarious purposes.
Century after century the Crypts spread outwards and downwards, slowly winding their way through out the various districts of the primary city, surface entrances scattered throughout the urban areas are difficult if not impossible to spot from the outside creating 'secret' portals into the dead underworld. A force which secures these passageways will not gain many strategic advantages, but will be able to remain in contact with their other garrisoned forces with ease.
