History
Resource rich, lush and large, Inferno stands as the jewel of the Inferno System. It is a prosperous planet of vital strategic import to the Cambrius sub-sector as a whole. Pre-Compliance, the Inferno System was host to a small interplanetary empire of Humans ruled from the planet Inferno by the royal "Lasair" dynasty with King Atreides as it's head. From his seat on Inferno, Atreides held the fealty of the two Planetary Baronies located elsewhere in the system, however, when the 517th Expeditionary Fleet arrived his position was compromised, and his authority of the baronies shattered. The Compliance was a bloodless affair, Atreides confirming unconditional compliance in the face of the Great Crusade's unquestionable might. the Compliance was led by the Lord Militant Gurisman and his Solar Auxillia force, who reduced Atreides to a Baron and as Inferno bowed to Imperial Rule, the other Barons lost their faith in their deposed king. The system pledges a sizable tithe to the Imperial Army and supplied numerous resources to the Great Crusade.
At the outbreak of the Heresy, the world did not declare for either side, Atreides instead declaring himself King again and staging a coup of the Imperial governor left on the world, looking to regain the fealty of the Barons in the process. However, while the Barons have also declared independence from the Imperium, they have not reaffirmed their Loyalty to Inferno and its King.
Now each planet in the system stands alone as both sides of the Heresy lay their claim for the planet and the resources it can provide.
