Battle Summary

Arriving on the planet with a small expeditionary force Smiticus encounter a raving mad group of World Eaters in a command complex for traitor forces who had been taken by blood madness. Their leader had said that we were part of the plot by the Warmaster to fix the primarch Angron. Smiticus bravely stood up and said that their forces had no part or knowledge of the events that the World Eaters accused them of. The World Eaters Deligatus Horus then lost his mind and let his Red Butchers lose upon Smiticus. Calling upon his ancient Avistus, Smiticus ran out to meet his foe. Avistus enraged at the betrayal ran headlong into the World Eaters Deligatus a his veterans. Smiticus with his veterans took up firing positions and put out precise sniper fire.

Sadly the Terminator armor of the Red Butchers was too strong and the Butchers charged into close combat. Avistus used his multi-melta and heavy flamed to kill most of the World Eaters Veterans as he charged into battle. Once in close combat Avistus crushed the treacherous Deligatus and the rest of the veterans. At the same time Smiticus and his veterans were able to cut down 1 Butchers with precise over-watch Fire and close combat attacks. But this wasn't enough, the Butchers opened up and slaughtered the veterans and laid low Smiticus. Seeing his commander and comrades taken out Avistus angrily roared towards the Red Butchers dropping one to melta fire and charging in.

Combat was long and vicious neither side giving up. The blood madness of the Red Butchers kept them going in the face of most of their brothers being killed and the sheer strength of the old contemptor was legendary. But under the weight of chain fist attacks Avistus's reactor core was breached and there was a titanic explosion. With no one to quell the Red Butchers madness they ran off looking for another fight. Smiticus was found by legion apothecaries and healed in the medicae. The same can not be said by his brave veterans.
