Battle Summary
Centurion Donpades let his mind meander to the many ways to clash with an assassin deployed by the different factions in the hive world nearby. In his opinion the modified human stood no chance against a transhuman astartes. These musings were for later he decided, the important skirmish lay ahead. A ragged band of Iron Hands had withdrawn to an industrial complex led by a consul unmatched in his incompetence. Donpades planned to attack the recuperation area on a large front with the Sicaran battle tank swooping around the left flank and the Anvillus dropping half of the Justerin to the right.
As the Sons of Horus encircled the loyalist the Sicaran on the flank was engulfed in a ball of fire. Disturbed the Centurion tried to glimpse at the source of the attack as he watched 2 attack bikes hull down in some brush. He ordered his left tactical squad to open fire when his own squad was assailed by an artillery barrage. To make matters worse the anvillus pattern drop pod had missed the area and had to return for a second attempt. The plasma support team however had escalated a building in the center and created a death zone for all infantry and the lone loyalist rhino. The Reavers were fighting with Gorgon Terminators but had problems to penetrate the sturdy armour. Donpades rejoiced when he saw the Iron Hands Delegatus closing in with some Terminators seeking close combat to avoid the fickle plasma gun fire. Snap shooting killed one of the attackers. The thick headed Delegatus challenged him for single combat. Both opponents sought weaknesses in the defense of the opponent. Donpades attacked when he saw the opponent lifting the shield somewhat and extended his power fist. Warning runes made him look up to see a large hammerhead closing in... The Sons of Horus had to withdraw after an costly encounter leaving their leader smashed and utterly broken.
