Archmagos Myrmidax Prime Agamon

+++AWAITING INPUT+++

Archmagos Myrmidax Prime Agamon, Myrmidon King of Ryza, typically marches to war surrounded by his phased plasma fusil-armed Secutor bodyguard and always enthroned within a heavy combat chassis of his own design. As is typical amongst his Myrmidon brethren he wields a variety of weaponry; a unique and incredibly lethal double-bladed trans-sonic glaive, a set of paired photon thrusters and a heavy-duty chainfist are preferred choices - in addition to the weapon-tools of his ever-present machinator array.

The Great Crusade

+++AWAITING INPUT+++

Betrayal at Sant Ced

At the outset of the Heresy, before word of the great betrayal had reached the wider Imperium, Archmagos Agamon had gathered his full strength on the world of Sant Ced. The order to do so had come from the office of the Warmaster, bearing his official seal, and so could not be questioned. The prime instructions read simply: “Prepare for compliance operation. Gather all available forces and proceed to muster point Sigma-0218; Rendezvous with IV & XVII Legiones Astartes task forces; await further instructions”.

Mustering his forces on the surface in good order, Agamon found himself betrayed and ambushed by his supposed allies in the Iron Warriors and Word Bearers Legions - losses were extreme. Those assets that survived the initial bombardment and ground assaults were only 'saved' by the unlikely intervention of greenskin marauders. Drawn to the system perhaps by the perceived threat posed by the massing Imperial forces (or just as likely, by the promise of a good fight), the raiders immediately attacked loyalist and traitor alike. In the ensuing confusion, Archmagos Agamon was able to extract a small fraction of his forces from the surface and escape with whatever few warp-capable ships remained.

Early Heresy

Learning of the full scope of Horus’ rebellion, and despite his now limited combat-effective resources, Agamon was a savant of war and resolved to fight back against the traitors. He would need to tread carefully. Through blind luck, certain key vessels had survived destruction at Sant Ced and the fleet, such as it was, still possessed the means to produce basic combat elements such as Thralls and Thallax Cohorts. Furthermore, many of the Myrmidon cults within the Taghmata had survived, sacrificing their various automata, servitors and other disposable tools of war to buy time for their own extraction.

Thus, rebuilding his strength would not be impossible but would take time and, more importantly, access to vast quantities of supplies - both biological and material. But how to obtain the necessary inputs with the galaxy now in turmoil? There was one place… not too distant, but sufficiently far from Sant Ced that the IV and XVII Legions might not think to follow him there...

Kug’Arkal

The initial approach to Kug'Arkal orbit and Dogon station was made cautiously. Archamgos Agamon dispatched his trusted lieutenant Myrmidon Secutor Lord Diomedax to probe the stations defences and assess its strategic value, while the rest of the fleet lurked in the relative safety of the outer system.

The first reconnaissance mission discovered some stocks of materiel that would be worth harvesting, various Rhino chassis vehicles, but this was revealed to be an ambush and a bitter struggle against the hated Iron Warriors erupted. Diomedax and his force eventually drove off the ambushers but their respite was brief and they soon faced a second assault, this time at the hands of the merciless Death Guard. This was a gruelling test of endurance for both sides, pitting the agile and deadly Thallax against the indomitable might of Cataphractii Terminators, but was ultimately a stalemate with both sides retreating from the field bloodied and battered.

In the days that followed, contact was made with a strike force of Space Wolves. Diomedax and the Wolf Lord Kurgath agreed to combine their forces for an assault on an area containing numerous high value assets. Detailed reports from this mission can be found below but, it had proven one thing - vital resources waited upon Dogon station and presumably on the planet itself.

Imperium Secundus

It is known that at some point after the events on and around Kug'Arkal, Taghmata Agamon reached the realm of Ultramar. Here Agamon encountered the forces of Imperium Secundus - specifically, a task force of Blood Angels patrolling the fringes of the new Imperium. The nature of that first encounter and Agamon's response to the news that three of The Emperor's "loyal" sons had essentially seceded and declared their own Imperium is recorded elsewhere... but after some initial difficulties Agamon agreed to align himself with Imperium Secundus and swear fealty to Emperor Sanguinius.

Known Allies

Knight House Taranis

A small detachment of Scions from House Taranis are oathsworn to fight alongside Agamon and his hosts. Their loyalty has been proven many times during the Great Crusade and so seriously is this bond taken that the normally Martian red of their Knight armour is instead covered with the rust orange of Ryza.

Secutarii Legions of Forge World Ryza

Though not strictly a part of his Taghmata, Agamon has some sway within the incredibly complex hierarchy of the Ryzan Mechanicum (and the Titan Legio Crucius), thus he has often counted numerous Secutarii Maniples among his available forces.
