Battle Summary

With the final offensive launched, it was only a matter of time before the Traitors declared victory over the system. It was a testament to their resolve that the Loyalist forces held on for as long as they did, weathering continued raids and attacks while the majority of their own sorties were rebuffed or quickly nullified. Even with their strongholds on Baylon and Kych the Emperors forces could hold back the tide of the Warmaster, one by one the other planets in the system fell in a unified onslaught and then the bastion of the Loyalists were put to siege.

After a protracted but one sided engagement the command was finally given; the Loyalists were to withdraw from the Oteal System, yielding the tactically important area to the Traitors.

Conducting a fighting retreat the defeated armies mobilised and prepared to leave, while victorious, the Traitors own forces were stretched far enough that they could do little more them watch them leave and savor the moment of victory.
