Population

The people of Canley are a hardy community of frontier settlers, loyal to their neighbours and believing that they are playing a vital part in the growing Imperium; expanding the borders through the Great Crusade. While the core of planetary governorship is made up of an Imperial Army cadre rewarded for their service, the vast majority of the population are settlers in search of a prosperous frontier world.

While some newly settled worlds can be disfunctional and ineffective in their infant stages, Canley's population has quickly formed a cohessive community, producing a hard working and very productive infrastructure which is growing rapidly.

History

Settled during the Great Crusade, Canley, the main habitable planet in System 80-4-11, quickly became a central staging point for the campaigns reaching further into the Eastern Fringe. Rather than squandering this lucrative position, the people of Canley instead leveraged the situation and have harnessed the increased traffic to become a trade hub and are well on their to gaining System status; the ability to rename their System.

This may all now be in danger with the recent civil war and the cessation of the Great Crusade. Instead of being at the centre of the expanding exploration, Canley is now on the edge of a rapidly collapsing Imperium.
