History
Originally designated as an ideal Mining world after initial Administratum survey crews discovered significant deposits of hard metals and minerals, Castelor was to be the second feather in the cap of the Betalis System, providing vast raw resources to the three Hive Worlds, creating a very powerful self sufficient Sub-Sector capital.
In the decades that followed, however, this was not to be the case. The first three teams sent to setup the foundations of the mining operations simply disappeared after ceasing communications, their hab towns found abandoned and empty. The fourth team sent in reported atmospheric anomalies and possible raider activity, when support forces arrived they found one in ten colonists alive... living in shanties made from the bodies of the other colonists. The fifth team, simply degenerated in gibbering idiots and were incapable of operating anything more complicated than a light switch.
This trend continued for a total of seventeen expedition teams, each team reporting more and more wild stories, and more often than not, providing data to support the changing state of the planet. Eventually the planets atmosphere, gravity and even soil composition had become altered from the original readings taken by the first survey team. Currently any remote survey or pict feed of the planet is impossible, only resulting in static or incomprehensible images. All further attempts to send teams to the surface have halted until a Mechanicum representative force arrives, due in a little over thirty years.
