History
The 9th Battalion of the first legion's Ravenwing earned the moniker "Fate's Messengers" following the recruitment of the psychically gifted Tabris Angelius of Caliban. The inscrutable praetor Gendor had led the battalion through a devastating blunder during the Ullanor campaign, leaving a stain of dishonor on the battalion that would not see removed until he identified and nurtured the psychic gifts of Angelius shortly before the outbreak of the Heresy. His ability to portend the outcomes of skirmishes saw victory after victory, and even placed the battalion in a position as one of the first to aid in the campaign against the Nightlords, currying much favor with the Primarch Johnson. Although tragedy would befall Tabris at the onset of the Calth campaign, the rebirth he brought to the battalion's honor and spirit was never forgotten by his brothers in arms.
