History
The Name
The Black Hearts earned their name during “The Culling of Formenos II” which took place during the Unification Era. The unit had been fighting a rebellion for the better part of two days when it had received intelligence on the location of rebel headquarters. Warleader Aegeus Kappo ordered an Orbital Assault onto the location provided by the Order Triarii Recon Company, along with elements of Order Triarii Tactical Company they descended from the Battle Barge “Ferrum Core” onto the planet’s surface and decimated the rebellion in less than one hour. Over the course of the next few days Order Triarii Tactical Company routed out the remaining pockets of the rebellion. It was after the assault on the headquarters that Legionnaires found a log book with the following quote.
