Savage Campaign~Operation Six
Loyalists Involved In The Conflict
Traitors Involved In The Conflict
Attempting to recover lost ground from the significant loses in the previous engagements, the Loyalists forces pushed hard into Traitor held territory and launched multiple offensives against the Atomantic Power Node, Central Highway and the Governors Palace. The first strike occurred at the Atomantic Power Node as elements of the XVIIIth made incursions into the territory as a diversionary assault to cover the other two offensives, unfortunately the area which they struck was already heavily defended by traitor elements of the Iron Hands who quickly mobilised to the threat and countered the assault with brutal efficiency. Unwilling to take continued loses the Salamanders strike force withdrew.
The assaults on the Central Highway, in an attempt to sever supply lines, and the Governors Palace, to reclaim the seat of government, were conducted by Raven Guard and Imperial Fist forces respectively after the Atomantic Power Node offensive had been engaged. Like the diversionary raid, however, these offensives met with failure at the hands of swift counter strikes from Night Lords Terror squads positioned along the Central Highway and a firmly entrenched but hidden Alpha Legion force within the Governors Palace who were hunting for the entrance to the Governors Bunker.
In response the Traitors had planned an unusual series of targets for their own expansion, persisting with their attack on the Agri Plots and then launching new raids against the Northern Habitat District and the Planetary Armoury. Sending additional elements of the XXth into the Agri Plots their incursion was countered by the Loyalist Luna Wolves but the continued encounters in the district had given the Traitor forces first hand knowledge of the layout and, with the proximity of their own front lines, the ability to create some tactical modifications which suited the stealthy tactics of those deployed there, ensuring their eventual victory of a district deemed of low priority by the Loyalists.
Their other incursions however did not fair so well, the offensive moves into the Habitat District were spearheaded by the Astartes of the XIIth who quickly became engaged in a grueling urban skirmish, fighting from building to building and taking significantly potent loses against the garrisoned Ultramarines. Without any secured territory to speak of, the World Eaters were eventually recalled and forced to withdraw from the area, allowing the Loyalists to exert complete control over the civilian safe haven.
The last sortie was assumed to be undertaken by the rogue Imperial Fists but received no direct support from, nor did they have any detectable communication with, the Traitors command structure. Their movement into the Planetary Armoury, at first was not done in a normal military manner but recognising the units as those who have previously been engaged by Loyalist forces, the mobile units of House Tuatha quickly maneuvered to counter their incursion. While hesitant at first the Imperial Fist forces eventually fully committed to the skirmish and succeeded in crippling a number of the Loyalist Knights before taking significant casualties themselves and withdrawing eastwards towards the coats.
