The planets surface is made of unstable gas which can not support anything heavy for any long period of time.
Population
Slov 5Q3 has always been a source of mining of various resources used for trade by the Eglurn System. With less then 6,000 miners based on the planet the real value is in its resources. Most of the mining platforms that dot the planets "surface" are manned by automatons, with the Miners their more or less to oversee the operation and conduct repairs and tasks only a human can. The Platforms contain life support, hab centers, Maintenance bays, shuttle bays and of course the manufactorum which is the prime role and heart of each of the mining platforms. Orbiting the giant world is a small Star port which the haulers dock, re supply with the mined materials and then depart for the systems worlds mainly (Eglurn).
In these dark days each platform houses a Militias quarters, enough for one squad of militiamen to keep the peace. The star port itself houses a demi cohort of Eglurnian Auxiliaries, whom have express orders to notify the nearby 7th legion fleets if the mining operations are impeded due to traitor incursion.
History
Pre-Compliance
Elgurn has set up mining opterations and as a major source of Promethium and other minerals within the sub sector Elgrun had built much of its wealth on the mining the planet.
Compliance
With the other systems within the suc sector falling to the complaince with ease Elgurn recalled all those on Solv 5Q3 to allow them to be safer and ensure that they spoke for all the system during compliance.
Post Compliance
While Elgurn had accaepted complance the oppertunity risen from the Horus Heresy had allowed them to provide resoucres from their mining operations to legions on both sides on the conflict. It appears this gamble might be the course of the battles now happening within the system.
Battle Types
Random Missions. But due to the unstable surface any unit with a armour value could fall through the surface at anytime. At the end of each turn all units with Armour Values must roll a D6 and if failed are removed from play. Flyers in Zooming mode are not effected but are if in hoover mode.
Rolls to pass based on front armour: 11 or less 2+, 12 3+, 13 4+, 14 5+
Models embarked on transports must past a initiative test or be removed also. If passed models make an emergency disembark within 2 inches of vehicle.
