Battle Summary

November - Combat Phase A number of Rogue Traders had watched the unfolding events at Golloch with great interest. Although they cared little whether the forces of the Warmaster or the Emperor would emerge victorious, they were well aware that there was profit to be made if they played their cards correctly. It was decided that they would meet in secret conclave at a little-known backwater, Sovriddar, to decide on a course of action to ensure that whoever came out on top the Rogue Traders would benefit. For the most part their conversations were anodine, but their insistence on keeping their meeting secret unnerved the Magistrate of Sovriddar, who worried that they were plotting against him. His spies having informed him of the conclave's location, he sent a force to apprehend the Rogue Traders on charges of sedition and conspiracy against the Emperor. Some were arrested but most managed to flee into the countryside. The situation quickly degenerated in a way that would be farcical had the outcome not turned out so tragic.

Clandestine rebel groups opposed to the Magistrate learned of the arrests and assumed that it was a sign that the Warmaster was coming to free them. Using arms stockpiled over the years, they launched a rebellion against the Magestrate and his forces. Meanwhile, Traitor and Loyalist armies engaged elsewhere in the Golloch Cluster also learned of the Rogue Trader conclave and the civil war that had begun and both came to the same erroneous conclusion. Assuming that the Rogue Traders were meeting because they had something of great value, strike forces from both sides were sent to Sovriddar to take control of the situation and seize whatever was so important as to lead to the outbreak of civil war. And so what began as a meeting by a few dozen merchants to discuss how to profit from the war would lead to the death of a world...

Last Battle of Sovriddar

Sovriddar is small and insignificant world in the Golloch Cluster, with no significant population or resources. But it would be here that colossal force would clash.

The Armies: Each player may bring a force totaling 6000pts. Each player may use any of the following force organization charts: Age of Darkness, Onslaught, Knight Questorus, or Castellan. Players may also "self ally" in contrast to the normal Horus Heresy rules.

Notes: If a team has an Onslaught force as part of their team, then they will not be eligible for the first turn nor can they Sieze the Initiative. If both teams have 1 or more Onslaught forces then determine first turn as normal.

Relics and artifacts: A player can bring a single Relic or Artifact is their force is fully painted and based.

Deployment: Team will roll off. The team that rolls the highest will pick their deployment.

First turn: The team that deploys first will have the first turn unless the other team seizes the initiative.

Reserves: Normal rules for reserves will be used.

Primary Objectives: Rogue Traders. There will be 3 Rogue traders setup on the table. Each will be placed in the center of the table 36” apart. These objectives are relics as defined in the 40k Rulebook. With the following exceptions. They may NOT be moved more than 12” per turn. Only Infantry (all types), Bikes, Jetbikes, and Cavalry may pick up the Rogue Traders.

Disruption Field: And any unit that ends a Deep Strike deployment within 12” of a Rogue Trader will automatically suffer a Deep Strike Mishap.

Orbital Relay Bombardment: At the end of each game turn roll a d3 and see which rogue trader corresponds to the roll. The team that controls the Rogue Trader (if applicable) may call in an Orbital Barrage with the following profile in their next shooting phase: Range unlimited STR 10 AP 1 Barrage 1, 7” Blast, Lance.

Scoring the Rogue Traders: If your team controls the Rogue Trader at the end of the game and is more than 12” from its starting location (closer to your team's table edge) your team will score 4 VP. If it is from 13”-24” your team scores 7 VP, and if they are within 12” of your table edge your team scores 10 VP. If for a team controls a Rogue Trader in their enemy's half of the table they score 3 VP at the end of the game.

Secondary objectives: Each Warlord slain is worth 1 VP. Lords of War are worth the normal amount.

The Psychic Phase: A player may not bring more than 20 levels of Psychic Mastery. A player may only use the Warp Charge they generate from their own Psychic Mastery and the random roll, any unused Warp Charge the player has are not shared with their team and are discarded. 2d6 dice will be rolled for the warp charge generated, instead of the normal d6, and the Warp Charge rolled must be divided up amongst the team members. Players therefore do not share a common Warp Charge pool.

Addendum to main rules: All models equipped with grenades may use them in the assault phase. A Stomp roll of a 6 is subject to "Look Out Sir" as normal. Forced march: Units that run count their roll as
