Suggested Games

Forces of 1000 to 1250 should ideally be used for this mission.

The standard combatant force organization chart for Zone Mortalis is utilized for this mission, with the key exception that flyers with the hover rule and flying monstrous creatures are allowed to be taken.

Table Setup:

This is a Zone Mortalis mission, but the table should be set up a little differently. Instead of utilizing normal corridors and hallways, players should set up a mazework walkways and gantries, preferably without actual walls and doors to block line of sight. Multiple levels is completely acceptable. The nature of the storm raging around the station blocks LoS to any models attempting to peer past the edges of the walkway, effectively creating the Zone Mortalis.

Deployment:

Deployment is the standard Encounter mission deployment. Place 3 objectives, representing data terminals at least 12 inches from each table edge and 6 inches from each other.

Primary Objective:

Objectives markers are worth 2 VPs to the side that controls them at the end of the game.

Secondary Objectives:

Slay the Warlord, Attrition, Scour the Skies (Each Flyer destroyed is worth 2 VPs to the opposing side)

Game Length:

The game will last 7 turns, on the 7th turn roll a D6 at the end, and on a 4+ an 8th and final with be played.

Special Rules:

In this missions flyers with the hover rule are allowed to be taken, but they may not enter zooming mode at any point in the game. These flyers are not restricted to the walkways, but are immediately removed from play upon suffering an Immobilized result. Flying monstrous creatures may also be taken, but they are removed as a casualty if they fail a grounding check while not above a walkway. Jump Infantry and jetbikes may attempt to "jump" the gaps between gantries and walkways, so long as they have enough movement to completely place their base on the walkway. Models that do this must take a special dangerous terrain check. Roll a D6 for each model and on a 1 or 2, the model is removed as a casualty with no saves of any kind allowed.

Tempesta Eterna: At the start if a flyer's or flying monstrous creature's activation, whenever it moves, and whenever it jinks, the model must take a dangerous terrain check. This check cannot be ignored by equipment or special rules. A flying monstrous creature must take a grounding check at the end of its controlling player's turn if it is swooping. All flyer's and flying monstrous creatures suffer a -1 to their BS.

Blot Out the Sun: The intensity of the storm blocks out sin coverage. Night fight is in effect for the duration of the game. Occasional lighting strikes may illuminate the battle field, at the start of each turn roll a D6. On a 6+ the night fighting rule is ignored and every vehicle and models with a cybernetica cortex suffers a single haywire hit.
