Campaign Summary
Prelude to War
While a number of Houses and at least one Company are known to have accumulated a great deal of wealth (enough to even purchase a new frontier Knight World) the final proceedings of the Hastilude of Raynes were interrupted by a violent intrusion; as the final procession was commencing great gouts of fire erupted in the sky and pummeled the ground as a concentrated orbital bombardment was focused on the scene of the games. Civilian and Nobles alike were caught in the attack with many being struck down, although most of the Knights were able to resist the attack and retreat to their respective camps.
Although the attack was brief it was in direct violation to the Truce of Nobles which all Hastiludes operate under and immediately triggered a small scale fleet engagement in the skies above Raynes as various factions blamed one another for the unprovoked attack. Likewise on the ground, the truce quickly broke down and former rivals who had not long before been saluting one another now faced each other on the field of true battle. While currently no one knows for certain who initiated the attack, the Knights of House Ranvier were suspiciously absent from the second day of games, their camp broken down and vacant, conveniently in time to avoid the ambush........
