Commanding Officer; Commander Saxtus Coronoides

Commander Coronoides is one of the senior officers in the Shade Lord's command echelon. A fellow Terran he fought at his side through the entirety of the Great Crusade, and was present at both the reuniting of the Primarch Corax with the Legion, and the fateful moment when the Shade Lord was given his sealed orders by the Primarch.
Although Coronoides never saw the orders himself, the Shade Lord gave him a thorough summary. The old ways of the Legion, and the Terran traditions were not conducive with Corax's vision for the Legion, moulded by his upbringing on Deliverance. The Shade Lord, and much of his veterans in the First Chapter, were removed from the direct chain-of-command and tasked with forming a fully mobile and self-sustaining Nomad Predation Fleet to patrol the edges of space and do whatever necessary to protect the Imperium of Mankind.
This was bitter news to Coronoides, who was ferociously proud of his legion and his honours. He had fought much with the Justaerin companies of the Luna Wolves during the Great Crusade and seeing how more powerful a legion became when united under it's Primarch, was fanatically looking forward to the day when the XIX Primarch would be found.
...
The taskforce is based on the battlebarge Phorusrhacos, and up until the events of Istvaan the taskforce operated reasonably close to the remainder of the Shade Lord's units. However upon the formation of the Ruinstorm the Phorusrhacos lost all contact with the Shade Lord and is now operating fully autonomously, aggressively attacking Traitor forces whenever found.
...
Combat effectiveness: Being part of a Nomad Predation Fleet the taskforce specialises in ship-to-ship combat, specifically boarding actions. To this end the Taskforce favours heavily armed heavy infantry such as Terminator and Breacher units. Apart from various Drop Pod types the taskforce makes little use of vehicles. A large Mechanicum contingent is present and provides the Legion much needed support in larger field engagements. This contingent includes various Knights , Battle-automata, and other warriors from the Kiavahr 6th Battle Taghmata, as well as a single Warhound Titan from the Legio Vindictus.
