Population
The population of Yaris Dock consists of a large number of Adeptus Administratum functionaries ranging from the Imperial Commander of the facility down to the lowly dockhands, who run the day to day activities of the station. Numbering about half a million souls permanently garrisons on the station, that number is however dwarfed by the enormous number of transitory residents numbering in the millions.
History
Yaris Dock is a massive void station on the uttermost edge of the Beneheventian Sub-Sector and is rightly regarded as the last bastion of the rule of the Emperor of Mankind this side of the Ultima Segmentum and the last stop before entering that untamed region of the Eastern Fringes. A place of desperate hopes and vain dreams; Yaris Dock teems with a transitory population of Rouge Traders, Soldiers, Merchants, Settlers, Iterators, Adeptus Administratum functionaries and minions of the Adeptus Mechanicus, all feeding on the riches that flow from the realms liberated by the Great Crusade beyond the Warp Storms in the Beneheventian Expanse. All who travel into the Eastern Fringes share one common experience in that they pass Yaris Dock. Be they the Crusader Fleets bringing the Emperor’s Compliance into the darkness beyond the Imperium or greedy Rough Traders searching for riches beyond the wildest dreams.
Yaris Dock was founded by support elements of the 37th Expeditionary Fleet in 115.M30 as a staging ground to investigate the loss of many vessels on the fringes of the Lincon Marches. With the discovery of the Beneheventian Passage into the Beneheventian Expanse region of the Eastern Fringes in the late 30th Millennium, the space station grew in importance owing to its close proximity to the Passage. Its original role as a base for Imperial military operations slowly grew to include full void ship repair and construction, and Yaris Dock became a way station for those daring passage into the Beneheventian Expanse.
