Battle Summary

Marshal Gerhardt did not send other men to do a job that he himself was not prepared to risk his life for. He and his Huscarls had also entered boarding craft to explore this mysterious void station discovered in the outskirts of the Thungor system. Judging by the sporadic comms he was receiving from his fellows, he was now all too aware that traitors had already boarded the station as well.

Gerhardt quickly reconnected with Breacher Team Deltos and began a sweep of the stations perimeter searching for the stations Servitor crew. One wandering servo skull was quickly captured, but there was no time to transfer any of its data files. Mass Reactive rounds began exploding around the Breachers and one brother was felled before the squad could bring their shields to bear. World Eaters began screaming from the darkness of the corridors.

Gerhardt's command team were hunting a different prey however, and could not react to their squad mates. They had picked up the unmistakable thuds of a Dreadnaught, and were weathering a hail of Assault Cannon fire on there way to bring down the foe. Their experimental Vigil Pattern Storm Shields, held however, and even through the mighty machines sundering blows one of Gerhardt's men was able to carve the withered Astartes from his tomb. But they did not relish victory, they instead began to run to help their fellow boarders.

But they were too late. A dozen white and blue power armored figures greeted them instead of their golden brothers. Or, more accurately, formerly white and blue. In the melee, they had been covered in gore. The red sheen was the first thing the terminators was in the dark hallways. The massive golden knights and blood soaked marauders ran at each other in the cramped space. And again it was only their impregnable shields that carried the day for the Imperial Fists. Gerhardt angrily engaged the World Eater's void commander in single combat, while his body guard bore the charge from the horde that followed. Their combined mass was able to bring down two of the Terminators, but after Gerhardt had quickly dispatched his counterpart with a well timed decapitating strike he was able to fight off the rest of the horde. The praetor took this opportunity to bitterly withdraw with the single Servitor they had discovered, knowing he no longer had the numbers to fight off further resistance.
