Battle Summary
Death to the Death Guard
Relegated to secondary duties Eisen´s troops were transported to the satellite city of Belzebubgaard two train stations from Diabolisgaard. Moving his headquarter to a derelict building the delegatus met with two unexpected allies. Both were clad only in form fitting black body gloves. The leaner of the two had kept his sniper rifle in a slim case but was fiddling with his scope continuously while talking to the delegatus. The other assassin was giving the impression of controlled rage, Eisen had a feeling similar to the last time he had met a World Eater Marine about to enter the fighting pits. The delegatus gave them details about the coming defensive action and allowed the assassins to position freely in the area. The units were in position for several hours, when the clattering of tank tracks heralded the arrivel for attack coming from the vicinity.
Eisen saw big groups of tactical marines marching to his position and a group of Terminators in grotesque armour armed with huge grenade launchers flanked by a pair of dreadnoughs. What would pose the biggest threat was a land raider on the right flank trying to circumvent the defensive positions. Hohlkopf was just issuing the order to the tudd guns to start bombarding the first unit of tactical marines when the Land Raider came to a sudden halt with one of the tracks jammed tight. The employment of the Vindicare seemed to have payed off. The tank disgorged a Death Guard officer followed by a number of Death Shrouds. Eisen ordered all available anti infantry fire on the Terminators and started heading this way to join the second squad of his Gorgon Terminators to halt the enemy advance. The other flank was defended by the second unit of Gorgons and the attack bikes that managed to destroy the first Cybot by a lucky shot. The two tactical squads could withstand a damaging amount of firepower aided by their apothecaries but would advance only slowly trying to stay in cover. The smaller of the squad was surprised when it was charged by a furious Eversor from some distance away and greatly reduced in their number. Despite being stoic Death Guard they turned their tails and ran, or tried to. They were cut down by the raging madman before they made it to safety. Before the Death Shroud could link with the remaining tactical squad Eisen could waylay the reduced unit with his Gorgons and cut them down for the loss of only one of his brethen. As the Iron Tenth was still fairly intact the Death Guard withdrew to attack at a later opportunity in greater numbers.
