History
The Maldraco complex is small, by the standards of the Mechanicum, but some observers have said they make up for that through sheer pride.
It was that same pride, slighted by the frankly hamfisted demands of the Loyalist Legion garrison on the planet, that ensured the Manufactorum's armed forces turned on the garrison within hours of the arrival of another Legion in the system. Some might have named this other Legion as Traitors, but as far as the Maldraco Magi were concerned they were far more respectful of the tech-priests of Mars, and the Loyalist troops were cordially invited to go boil their heads. The Manufactorum's production of specialized cybernetic appendages was not going to be interrupted by anyone, whether Emperor or Warmaster, and this resistance to outside interference was as good as axiomatic for the Manufactorum's defenders.
