History

The Forgeworld of Deciium, located just outside of the Ultima sector, is a small Forgeworld by any standards. Deciium is a mineral rich planet, and although it is many times larger, it resembles closely ancient Lunar, its blue-grey rocky surface full of craters. Vast deposits of many rare ores are mined and exploited by the multiple forges scattered around the otherwise barren planet, and even now after thousands of years of heavy mining activity, only a bare fraction of the planets mineral wealth has been exploited. During the Age of Strife, the Lords of Deciium had remained in sporadic communication with Mars. Although many decades or sometimes centuries went by without any messages making it through, each Forgeworld was aware of the others existence, and when the Emperors fleets left the Sol system and began the Great Crusade, the had the location of Deciium in their memory banks, and it was not long before more permanent communication lines were set up between mars and Deciium.

Much as the red of the Martian landscape inspired the red robes of the Priests of Mars, their own blue tinged home world has led to Deciium's Tech-Priests wearing robes of Deep Blue, and this is also reflected in the colouring of their battle automata's armour plating.

The Grand Army of Arch-Magos Logaan Sep left Deciium on an ill-fated Explorator Fleet early in the Great Crusade, with Logan Sep under the command on High-Magos Explotator Fheeny. Fheeny was an incompetent commander, and thought much more highly of his own skills than was in any way warranted. After a series of disastrous decisions, Fheeny lay dead at the feet of an Eldar Fire Daemon, and what remained of the Taghmata was heavily out numbered and surrounded on all sides by that ancient alien race. Logaan Sep, as the highest ranking surviving Tech-Priest, took over command functions of the Taghmata and prepared himself for a grand last stand, uploading what he believed would be his final commands to the battle autmata under his control. All looked lost, when suddenly great balls of flames began to fall from the heavens. What seemed like dozens and then hundreds of burning streaks filled the sky, when Logaan Sep's internal cogitators were able to analyze what he was seeing. Drop pods. The First Legion had arrived.

In the aftermath of the battle, Logaan Sep sought out the leader of his saviours, and was brought before Avinos Rodriguez, Master of the Dark Angels 31st Chapter. After thanking him for his timely arrival, Logaan then pledged his Taghmata to serve the 31st Chapter. Avinos at first refused the pledge, saying there was no debt to repay, but Logaan was decided. The 31st had saved their lives, therefore their lives belonged now to the 31st. It was not a matter of debt, he insisted, it was simply Logic, and the Omnissiah greatly values Logic.
