Were it not for the far larger horror of the Heresy, the actions of this unit would have gone down in infamy. Death Guard apothecaries were assigned to develop bioweapons that could be deployed ahead of the Legion attack, and they excelled in cultivating virulent diseases and xenos parasites in captured human prisoners.
