Briefing

A senior officer of the Ravenguard detachment L-XIX-1024 has been captured by the Traitor forces during an engagement on the Fortress World of Dur-Kazit. The Loyalists intelligence cadre has discovered the location of the facility he is being held in but only have a limited window in which to execute a rescue operation. It is vital that the Praetor is extracted as quickly as possible as it is highly likely that the Traitor command will interrogate and latter execute him.

Battle Summary

A Rescue Operation to recover a captured Raven Guard Praetor.

Taking advantage of the distraction caused by the Imperial Fists strike into one of the Dur-Kazit fortresses, the Raven Guard forces in the Oteal System managed to convince a number of the reinforcing units to instead divert their attention to the captured Praetor located on the same planet. Claiming that the attacks on the orbital defenses were going to be anticipated by the enemy and thus heavily defended the reinforcements agreed to strike at a target more likely to result in success. Attempts to verify these requests for reassignment were made impossible by an anomalous vox interference leaving the decision to the commanders in the field at the time, many of whom were swayed by the Raven Guards pleas.

With a number of sorties sent into the complex from different entrances the Loyalist forces broke through the unprepared defending garrison and reclaimed the Praetor before his ultimate demise, however the Imperial Fist detachment which was left as the sole decoy survived their mission and have since requested an audience with the System Loyalist command.
