Population

Betalis IV still maintains a highly specialized veteran troop system, training their units in one of two advanced schools. There are 5 Regiments on planet currently, three of them organized as a typical Imperial Guard regiment but with a more plentiful supply of veterans trained as Advanced Recon and Skirmishing and dedicated anti-armor combatants. The PDF elements on planet are plentiful and well trained as well; easily able to form into another 2 to 4 regiments depending on how long it has been since their last troop tithe.

History

Betalis IV, an Industrial World with billions of loyal subjects of the Emperor, has been a member planet in the Hawcinus Sub-Sector since before the dark times that swallowed this Sector. When the crusade reached this planet to liberate it, it was found to have weathered the times alone and prospered. Betalis IV had a highly trained military and production capacity at full strength to fuel their ongoing wars. After the crusade swept past Betalis IV, it became one of the most important planets in the sector, providing the crusade with local troops to draw from, and great quantities of war material. During the old times, Betalis IV produced 7% of the crusade’s overall war material, and had donated 10 regiments of veteran troops to the effort. A titanic battle was fought around the climax of the Heresy on this planet. Although most records of the event have been lost to time, there are still telling signs on the planet of the once great conflict.
