Population

The people of Phonicas have always been a proud race, fiercely loyal to their neighbours and believing that they are an integral part of the Imperium, when in fact the planet, even the system, is a long forgotten relic of the Great Crusade which produces no valuable resource for the greater Imperium. Its only notable fact which some of the various multitudes of Administratum divisions monitor is that it was the capital of a Sub-Sector which was being reclaimed by the Eastern Fringe and the slow decline of the Astronomican.

Ignorant of their near invisible status amongst the greater scheme of things, the Phonicans worked hard to meet their quotas and were devout in their worshipping of the Emperor God. The system as a whole, led by this glorious example, followed suit and indeed it would have been a prime example of a loyal Imperial system, had it not been for their locations and then the subsequent Phonicas Campaign.

After the war, the world and its people were completely changed. Dejected by the Imperiums lack of hesitation in attempting to execute Exterminatus against their planet and ademant that the Phonicas Choir is in fact a sign from the Emperor that they were right, the people of Phonicas Prime have embraced the teaching of the Imperial Truth and, although wary, have welcomed their new governorship under the Angels Radiant. Now, rather than being the forgotten fringe world about to be absorbed by the dark void, the people are the centre of a rapidly growing Imperium of Truth and the guardians of a new beacon for the Eastern Fringe, the Phonicas Choir.

History

Originally settled during the Great Crusade, Phonicas Prime, then known simply as Eighty-Four-Eleven, was a to become a central staging point for the campaigns reaching further into the Eastern Fringe. However this pivotal role only lasted a short time before the actions of the Heresy stalled all further pushed east in the area and the system was quickly forgotten; for a while. Like many known loyalist worlds on the outer edges of the Imperium, Eighty-Four-Eleven was hit hard by covert terror activities conducted and orchestrated by the Alpha Legion, while no Loyalist or Traitor fleet ever entered the planets orbit, let alone the Sub-Sector, the world was reduced to war torn ruin with numerous civil wars incited by propoganda.

As the Imperium reconsolidated millenia after the Heresy, Eighty-Four-Eleven, was once again brought back into the fold of the Imperium, renamed Phonicas Prime and appointed the Capital of not only the System, but the entire Sub-Sector. The planet quickly became a hub for trade in the area and a staging point for a number of Rogue Traders operating in the glactic region, even a staging point for the occasional ill fated expeditions into the darker void which was once lit by the Emperors light.

Very little of note occured on the planet for hundreds of years, until the dramatic events of the Phonicas Campaign brought it centre stage and directly into the targeting reticles of every Imperial war fleet in the Austrlis Ultima Sector.
