Geography

Once a thriving agri-world, thick, dense jungles have reclaimed most of the planet. The tyranid infestation has however begun to work the hive mind's horrendous transformation of the planet's biomass in preparation for digestion by the first hive fleet to be drawn towards the reawakened hive's beacon.

Population

Ghostar 3 was once a thriving agri-world that supplied the surrounding systems with vast amounts of produce. The rich soil, frequent rainfall, mild climate and abundant fauna of the planet made it a perfect world for farming and agriculture of all kinds. As the sun of the Ghoststar arc went dim however, the productivity of the planet decreased. The farmlands expanded further and further into the rainforests attempting to arrest falling harvest rates with a greater volume of land sown. Then, suddenly, 150 years ago the produce simply stopped coming. An cursory investigation by the Rogue Trader Harvaas Kauvaan (en route to the trade ports of Ghoststar 5) discovered a massive alien bio-ship that had apparently been uncovered by excavators clearing rainforest. The equipment and machinery of the workers lay about the cleared land but there was no sign of the workers. The vast bio-ship appeared to be dead, but Harvaas (not prepared to risk his crew) ordered the immediate return to his flagship, the Kauvaan Sabre. Planetary scans from the Sabre revealed no human life on the planet. A report was logged and the Kauvaan Sabre continued on it’s journey to Ghoststar 5. A cursory ordo xenos report subsequently banned all contact with the planet pending detailed investigations and the rainforests of the former agri-world were left to reclaim the planet. Then the Phonicas Choir erupted.

The massive bio-ship shuddered to life as the waves of psychic energy rolled across the planet. Ravening bio-organisms awoke from aeons-old slumber and began to spread across the surface of Ghoststar 3. Within a few short months the planet belonged to the tyranids.
