While initially isolated from the news of the Istvann atrocities and the triggering of the Heresy because of the Warp Storm, there were obviously elements within the Traitor Legions which knew of the Warmasters plans. The seclusion of the Helix Cluster, however, was possibly not anticipated as the number of Traitorous elements appear to be few. Likewise this could be attributed to the remarkable leadership of Castus Tharr, the Rogue Trader given command of the advance fleets and Sub-Sector Governorship over the Helix Cluster. The moment the Sub-Sector was sealed off from the rest of the Imperium by the Warp Storms Tharr instantly began consolidating his power base and committed to the Legion commanders his dedication to continue the Crusade through the Sub-Sector, this garnered him a great deal of loyalty and co-operation from the Legion forces present.

While some factional infighting has begun between certain Legions, Tharr has been able to hold a considerable alliance together and has targeted the Kaloran System for Complaince due to its strategic value in food supplies and the recent Ork invasion threatening its viability. But while the Rogye Trader charasmatic influence is strong, he is still only a human and as the effects of the Heresy filters into the area, more and more units are falling to infighting, the idea of a common enemy may hold some sway but vengeance is often a stronger temptation.
