Description

Hekate is a large gas giant in the outer Umbra system. Though it has 55 moons, none of them are known to be terraformed or occupied by permanent settlers. Several of the moons have small or itinerant mining operations on or below their surfaces.

Umbral Fleet Anchorage

The Umbral Fleet Anchorage is a large space dock and shipyard facility in high orbit around Hekate. It is used by Umbral Navy ships as a staging area and provisioning center. Having a fleet anchorage so close to the edge of the system allows for rapid deployment of forces to interstellar destinations, as well as providing a first line of defense should Umbra ever be invaded. The shipyard facilities can and do build new ships; however, they are primarily focused on repairing and refitting existing voidships. Extensive gene-foundries and research laboratories are also located on board the station, where the Necrofabricators experiment with new void-based technologies, including Navigator genetics.
