The campaign is based in a region of space known as the Australis Ultima Sector, a frontier sector within the southern boundaries of the Ultima Segementum bordering the Eastern Fringe. This sector represents the whole world in a real world sense, so to speak.

Example Sub-Sector Map
Each major region (a State, Territory or County etc) around the world which wishes to take part in the campaign will be assigned a small chunk of space within the sector known as a Sub-Sector; the naming of this Sub-Sector is completely up to the region. For example the Australian state of New South Wales is represented in the campaign by the Pacificus Delta Sub-Sector; all of the activities within New South Wales will count towards campaign points for the Pacificus Delta. There is no limit to the number of Sub-Sectors which can join the campaign, as each new region decides to take part, a new Sub-Sector will be added to the campaign map representing that the war has spread to this area of the Imperium.

Within each Sub-Sector there will be Systems made up of planets and other major locations. Like the Sub-Sector within the Sector map, each Sub-Sector can be made up of a multitude of Systems, however it is up to the regional players (or a nominated committee) as to how to use the Systems for their gaming purposes. One option is to create an individual System for each major gaming group or tournament series wanting to participate which is represented in the region. For example in the Phonicas Sub-Sector (the Australian Capital Territory) the Parlios Collective represents a tournament series called Wintercon and Cancon, the Kildrech System represents another tournament series called Decimation, while a third System will be created for the local University gaming group. The games played in these tournaments or by the University gaming group will go towards their respective Systems. Another option is to instead create a single System for the entire region and ALL results go towards that System until the war in that area has been resolved one way or another and another System is created.

Whatever method is decided upon for the use of the Systems, each planet or other major location within the Systems will be contested locations with battles being fought over it. Each location on the System map will have a summary of the territories in the mouse hover text box whilst clicking on the planet itself will take you to another screen listing all of the battles which have taken place so far with an Imperial date format and summaries of the forces involved and the results of the battle.
