Formation & Early History
While the bulk of the legion returned to Terra, the Australis Crusade was instead tasked with reinforcing the VIIth legion fortress Arx Invictus after Castellan Roland Evrard had reported increasing xenos incursions within compliant regions of the Australis Ultima sector. Not one to abandon the legacy of the Imperium, Rogal Dorn sanctioned the formation of a crusade to deal with them. Under the leadership of Marshall Alberich, the crusade was drawn from the entirety of his 82nd veteran company, the 501st void company and several detachments of 1st company Templar. Upon their arrival at the Knight World Coren, home of Arx Invictus, the forces of the fortress joined with the crusade, which then proceeded to prosecute their mandate and scour the stars of xenos.
