History
One of the oldest Chapters of the 13th Legion, with its origins able to be traced back to the Sedna Campaign at the edge of the Sol System the 22nd Chapter had served with distinction throughout the Great Crusade. Serving primarily under Stolos Amyntas, The Tetrach of Iax since his promotion into the Tetrach Council the 22nd Chapter has become a byword for success and is renowned for their tactical flexibility on the battlefield, their dedication to duty and the prosecution of their Tetrach and Primarchs goals both on and off the battlefield.
With such a long history and many campaigns under their belt, the 22nd is unsurprisingly filled with many Veteran Space Marines, what does set the 22nd apart however is the high proportion of Invictarii amongst their ranks. Preferring ranged warfare to the brutal struggle of hand to hand combat the Veterans of the 22nd are experts in forming precise overlapping fields of fire and kill zones during the midst of battle, cutting down enemies with Bolters and the high number of Plasma weapons for which they are feared. These already formidable Veterans are then further bolstered in combat by the elite warrior of the Suzerain, forming a highly trained force prepared for all facets of war.
At the dawn of the Horus Heresy, the 22nd Chapter were lead by Legion Consul Titus Galerius.
