History

The 1st Independent Strike Company was constituted on the orders of Lord Corax, Primarch of the XIX Legion, following the Battle of Ravendelve in M31. Ostensibly created as a deep attack strike force meant to harry traitor forces deep behind their own lines, Lord Corax had an ulterior motive in the creation of the company. The horrors of the Dropsite Massacre on Istvan V proved more than even the psycho-conditioning of some of his legionaries to handle, leaving them broken shells of the warriors they once were. So it was that Lord Corax gathered up these broken warriors, outfitted them with equipment and the Raven Guard "Silent Watcher"' and sent them off into the galaxy for an honorable death.

Command was given to Scout Sergeant Kelsek Veers, who was immediately promoted to the rank of Strike Captain. Veers spent many years serving as the chief scout for Strike Captain Alverex Maun, believed lost following the attack on Istvaan V. Veers had learned well under the command of Strike Captain Maun, and despite battling his own personal demons was anxious to utilize the tactics of rapid assault and fade while carrying the war to the traitor legions.
