Overview
The XXI Company of the XVI Legion Astartes is a strike force attached to the 954th Expeditionary fleet, its Captain serving as senior officer and leader of the entire fleet. This assignment has been ongoing for over a century, thought the company has returned to its parent legion from time to time for refit, replenishment of numbers, and particularly important campaigns (the most recent being the Ullanor Campaign). The Company is particularly noted for its use of 'Hammer and Anvil' tactics, holding the enemy at a single point with the heavier elements of its forces while striking from alternative angles with the faster sections of the company.

History
One of the earliest Companies of the XVI Legion Astartes, the 21st was founded on Terra before the Great Crusade began in earnest, recruited from amongst some of the harshest of societies. Members of the company fought in the First Pacification of Luna which gave the Legion its original name.
