Although unsightly to many, the relatively fertile plains of Labrois allow very productive growing of plants. However the plains only make up less than 40% of the planets surface and so cannot sustain the required output of that of an Agri-World, but coupled with a healthy Hive population can produce more than enough to suply its own planetary system.
Population
Laboris is in constant competition with its sister Hive World, Liberatae, in the production of basic materials and breeding stock for the Systems capital world, Kambra. A huge portion of the planets population is educated to assist in the development required for selection of breeding lines for Kambra, while those not selected are then assigned to various careers for a five generation penance.
History
Always a fertile planet, Laboris, became one of the two primary support planets for the Systems Capital when the Administratum commenced operation on Kambra. Being well suited for agricultural growth but not ideal to become a full Agricultural World, Laboris concentrated on high yeild concentrate crops as well as associated machinary. Its treaties with Kambra has kept the planet relatively secure and only a number of small civil incidents have marred its otherwise peaceful history.
