Without significant technological advancement or the understanding of their available technology the society maintained such a culture even through to current day.

Unlike most of the planets in the [[Kildrech System]], Styx has little to no mineral resources, which is the primary reason it was overlooked as the System capital when the Templars originally conquered the area in the name of the Emperor. Instead it is an exceptionally fertile planet which has near perfect orbit and lunar cycles to create rapid growing condition for its crops.Even before the planet was brought into the fold of the Imperium there were significant agricultural settlements scattered across its continents, but very little industry. The Imperium maintained this tendency and simply expanded the agricultural activities to encompass the planet’s entire surface and established distribution routes throughout the System and its neighbors.

The first major disruption of Styx’s network occurred with the Tyanid invasion, although not in a way which was expected.
