History
This twin system contains two planetoids orbiting each other as they orbit the Fortius Star. This twin system's orbit is at the very inner edge of the Girdle, making the Mechanicum Adepts who arrived with the Iron Hands believe these were originally moons that orbited the now destroyed world that forms the Girdle.
Their location meant these frozen worlds formed a key part of the navigation system for the Girdle. The Mechanicum installed a monitoring station on Orendium Alpha which provides the beacon to all arriving starships. It is by using this beacon and the star charts developed by its sister station on Orendium Beta, that Imperial ships can navigate the system after exiting the Warp.
