Battle Summary

After a parley on the outskirts of Ahemait Oua's only large conurbation collapsed into violence ( despite the best efforts of the Thousand Sons to keep the conversation reasonable and well-argued ) the Imperial Fists garrison shot down the lighter in which the wounded Prosperan consul sought to retreat. Fortunately for him, his brothers in the XVth Legion could immediately move in to search the fallen wreckage for survivors. Unfortunately for him, the Imperial Fists had a Land Raider and a Cataphracti Praetor who was in no mood to let the Sons escape alive.

In some respects the fall of the wreckage into the city itself was regrettable - the destruction of a section of elevated transport by-ways in one of the manufactorum district endangered many workers and travelers - but the adjacent city walls were an ideal position from which the Sons' heavy support could chastise the Imperial Fist's tactical units, and the half-collapsed freeways were excellent cover for rapidly advancing infantry, especially in the crepuscular gloom.

But despite the impregnability of the Raider and the similarly impregnable morale of the Fists, simple maths proved decisive. When the Sons of Magnus are laying down twice the number of blows than the Sons of Dorn, even the most stalwart defenders can crack.
