Battle Summary

After the catastrophic loss of the troop-ship 'Ion-Storm', Hersir Grimnir realised his expeditionary force was doomed. His veteran forces had been devestated by the traitor Mechanicum forces seemingly in control of Dogon Station, and his supplies were perilously low. The commander's only hope was to call in reinforcements from distant Vos Abyssi, the Squat homeworld and staging point for the loyalist forces mustering against the growing rebellion that was spreading it's insideous roots throughout the Imperium of Man.

Those reinforcements arrived, four days after Grimnir had raised his panicked call for help.

The Squat fleet emerged into realspace through a twisted, torn rent of unreal energy and exotic particles which played a dazzling lightshow across the reflective plasteel surfaces of Dogon Station. Immediately the fleet spewed out a glut of bulk carriers and troop landers, which made the short journey to dock on the orbital space platform. On touchdown, the Squat relief forces spread out, probing their new surroundings with sophisticated monitoring sensors. They detected lifeforms, and the presence of massive amounts of power sources. Taking this as their best lead, the Squats rolled out with the heaviest weapons in their armouries and went to the aid of their stricken comrades.

Almost immediately, heavy fire erupted from the far side of the docking bay. Obscured by heavy walls and control towers which rose hundreds of feet into the air, the traitor Mechanicum forces lay in wait for their loyalist foes. But this time, the Squats were prepared. Precious intel gained from Grimnir's previous clashes with the Mechanicum had prepared the Squat Guard, and they returned fire with all they had. Clanking, treaded abominations of half-man, half-machine were cut down in that first withering exchange. In response, a maniple of towering robots, some half-dozen in all and supported by hump-backed Cult Priests came toward the Squats forward lines. The giant constructs cut through a forty-strong unit of proud Squat Warriors like a lascutter through ferrocrete, but this left the main Mechanicum force unwittingly stranded on the far side of the battleground. The larger surviving parts of the Squat forces closed in on the straggling remains of the Dark Mechanicum, securing control of the makeshift battleground and securing an unlikely victory for the loyalists.
