Battle Summary

Following the Drop Site Massacre at Isstvan V, a small force of Iron Hands managed to capture a trading ship and escaped the planet. With a good deal of stealth and cunning, they evaded the Warmaster's circling fleet and then set a course for Talasa Prime on the Eastern Fringes of Ultima Segmentum. The Iron Hands' commander hoped this remote location would provide an opportunity for his forces to regroup and resupply unhindered by Horus' traitor legions. Unfortunately for the Iron Hands, one of Warmaster's navigators detected a faint energy signal in the warp and reported this immediately to Horus. Without delay, Horus dispatched Kharn's Warhounds on board the "Doom Bringer" to investigate, pursue and destroy any enemy forces located. Given the nature of their stolen ship and it's lack of armament, the Iron Hands could only attempt to outrun the Doom Bringer. Following a 33 day pursuit, the Irons Hands arrived at Talasa Prime and were able to crash land the ship on the planet's surface, just before the arrival of the World Eaters. However, as a result of the crash landing, their advanced communication equipment was lost during the descent, over a region named the Balestar Valley.

In a last effort to rob the World Eaters of the objective on the far left, the Iron Hands dispatched their rhino to deal the lone Centurion. 2010-01-01%2B01.53.08.jpg

As the battle came to a close, neither side was able to secure anymore objectives. The lone Centurion managed to survive accurate fire from the Iron Hands Rhino and Tactical Support Squad. The aerial battle in the centre continued without a single casualty to either side, therefore Objective 3 was unclaimed. 2010-01-01%2B01.53.28.jpg
