By the will of the Emperor I pray this message reaches you!
I am not sure what, if any, was the last transmission you received from me, but shortly after 594 it became evident that the standard astropathic relays were not communicating outside of the Phonicas system with any reliability.
Whether this was initially due to intentional sabotage or external interference, I do not, and is, compared to what is now transpiring, largely irrelevant. For the sake of clarity and thoroughness I must assume two things whilst writing this report;
- All previous messages and reports after 559 were not received by you or any other members of our Order.
- This report, being transmitted via high powered Inquisitorial relays will be received in full.
Shortly after receiving your response on 572, matters on Phonicas Prime began to escalate drastically. Although subtle to begin with, it became obvious that the planetary government, including Governor Lopeck, had not been entirely truthful in their dealings with me. Either from the outset or very early into the piece Lopeck appears to have come to the belief that the miracles were indeed portents for the rebirth of Saint Thanai.
In order to protect Phonicas Prime and the location of, what he believes to be, the Saints rebirth, Lopeck has pulled in every favour he has accumulated over his career and indebted himself for many lifetimes to come. The result of this has been the mass mobilisation of the entire Imperial Guard presence in the surrounding systems under the control of Lord General Gaustev. Even as I word this report, more Imperial Navy transports arrive every hour delivering Guard units to the system.
Early in the military build up, Astartes ships arrived in the system nearly simultaneously with the expected Sororitas forces. Initially joyous as such powerful allies to assist in suppressing the rebellious system, I was devastated to learn that the Marines were, in fact, here to assist the Lord General. Lopeck has friends in high places indeed.
Whether paranoia or a genuine belief that the Phonica system will come under attack, with such a formidable military presence, Lopeck has prevented myself and the Sisters from making planet fall. This treasonous act did, however, allow me to make the discovery of the presence of our fraternal Ordos, Malleus. At the same time this confirmed my theory on the Psykers.
It appears that Psykers are being drawn here, to the Phonicas system, Phonicas Prime to be precise. I myself cannot argue with this as it took little to convince me to come here. Over the past weeks it has become apparent that hundreds of Psykers have flocked to the planet, and with such a gathering, so too have the Daemons come. Inquisitor Deanic Falthar of the Ordos Malleus followed shortly after with a fully armed Strike Cruiser, on which I am now sending my report to you.
All of this; the rebellion, the military build up, the Psyker gathering and the beginning of a Daemon incursion revolves around a single thing. The miracles.
These manifestations surged in regularity and potency shortly after losing contact. I maintained my belief that it was all a well orchestrated Cult, until it was undeniable.
Holy Terra, I was wrong, the manifestations are real.
Whether Lopeck is right and this is indeed the rebirth of Saint Thanai, or something much more hideously evil, one thing is proven without question. There is... an entity... forming on? within? around?... Phonicas Prime. Anyone can sense it, and those who can touch the Immaterium are almost certainly sensed BY it.
It is a force, growing within the Warp, or on the planet, and it has drawn Psykers, Sanctioned and Rogue alike, to its presence, intentionally or not. Whether it is using these people like out glorious Emperor, to feed itself and create a beacon, or perhaps to shield itself from the denizens of the Warp, I do not know.
What I do know is that it is growing potency, as are the Daemonic incursions. Currently the amassed might of the Imperial Guard under Gaustev and his allied Astartes warriors appear to be dealing with the threat with ease. But already other forces are being drawn here, opportunistic and stealthy.
I have been sending requests for audience to each of the five Marine Chapters present, but to date they are refusing audience. I am, I fear to admit, unsure of how to proceed, had I not been so aggressive initially I may have been able to get closer and investigate fully. Now I am on the fringe and cannot determine whether we should be welcoming this .... thing, or destroying it. I know Inquisitor Falthar has no such doubts, he has the ability to launch Exterminatus aboard this very ship, however without significant allies, we have no chance of success.
In summary; we need help. Sororitas, Astartes, Imperial Guard whatever forces you can send; if this force turns malevolent......
