By your communication it is apparent that Master Serano has thoroughly briefed you on the situation, one which now threatens the stability of the entire Eastern Fringe.
I can confirm, as per your orders, that I have handed strategic command of all our military assets over to Inquisitor Falthar and will assist him in executing his order of Exterminatus. In addition the Krieg guard units you advised of have arrived and infiltrated the traitor forces stationed throughout the Phonicas system. The Death Korps commander has communicated he will be ready to take action at our signal.
These reinforcements to our cause could not have arrived more timely, the region is rapidly degenerating and there are confirmed reports that xenos forces are present. Eldar ships have been sighted and a number of small skirmishes have been entered into, however it appears that the traitors have managed to enlist the aid of one faction whilst combating another. There are also unconfirmed reports of a greenskin fleet moving towards the system.
Our limited sources planet side also report that it appears there may even be a breakaway regiment of Imperial Guard which has fallen to chaos. They are likely to be eliminated within days but the fact that the agents of chaos were able to sway an entire regiment is worrying. This alone caused a ripple concern to flow through the growing numbers of Astartes chapters present.
This ripple was converted into a full blown schism when, five days ago, a Black Templar crusade fleet arrived in the system and, on open channel, declared their intention to cleanse the system of Xenos and Witches by any and all means. Almost instantly the forces of a half a dozen chapters declared their support, all of which are successors of the Blood Angels and Dark Angels.
It is interesting indeed that the only Astartes forces loyal to our cause are marines belonging to chapters whom we suspect and watch the most. The fact that their views and motivations are similar to our own and yet we deem them the most radical gives me cause for reflection. The marines themselves obviously feel the same way as they are still wary of working with us too closely, although they have agreed to share tactical data.
Whilst the bulk of the Phonicas forces are in disarray from the defection of some of the Astartes, we have been able to seize a number of strategic assets and are beginning to move towards securing staging points.
With the anticipated arrival of Sisters this may give us the boost we need to start fighting our way into a position to allow the Quintus to commence Exterminatus.
