The planets crust is simply the top layer of a myriad of precious metal veins yet to be tapped, the Systems location preventing any large scale Imperial mining operation, however small scale venture and private industry have setup initial operations.
Population
The population on the planet is limited to scattered mining operations; both freelance and Canley sponsored. Without significant capital investment from an established venture or Forge World, however the mining will be limited to small isolated pockets in temporary hab villages.
History
The planet has always been ear marked for mining operation, however it is one which was never truly utilised as the System was never under close scrutiny from the Imperium. The planet is hostile and difficult to work without expensive safety habitats and the operations are costly to maintain. Even still the profits are worth the risk for some smaller, frontier ventures.
