During the battle over Yuglenia, and after a breach in the hull of the Eschaton was secured by Dark Angel Ravenwing units, the Liberation Fleet command made the unusual move to deploying Vindicator tanks by Thunderhawk, and sending these heavy units deep into the enemy vessel. The fact that these tanks were crewed and accompanied by loyalist Death Guard was probably equally surprising to the traitors.
Fragmentary records indicate that the suicidal attack on the Eschaton's enginarium was an unqualified success, but imply that the Death Guard librarian and Praetor (one Rikard Vagner) were either severely wounded, or captured by the enemy, during the retreat to the hull breach.
