Battle Summary
The Iron Hand Despoilers were eager to get close to mission objective, a small ruined complex that was supposed to contain power units of immense value. In the briefing Delegatus Eisen had not been able to assert if the weapon turrets close to the ruined building were operational. The unit advanced fast to secure the perimeter, the first unit of Gorgon Terminators advanced on the other flank while Eisen closed in on the weapons turret. From the other side two tactical units took to the field supporting a small units of veritable brutes in red armour closing in on the ruins. As the sonorous rumble of attack bikes indicated reinforcements the Gorgon Terminators started their advance similar to the despoilers that had spotted accursed traitor marines and raced to get close into attack range. On the other flank squad Vanadium started firing with their heavy bolters while advancing forward advancing forward pulverizing the first traitors. The Terminators clashed with the demonic Word Bearers that had somehow joined the Alpha Legion. Brother Dirk was wounded gravely, but 3 of the Gal Vorbak fell victim to the the chain fist and Thunder Hammer of squad Iridium. A Contemptor Cortus was clanking angrily onto the battle field while the Alpha legionaires on the flank had escalated the building and were laying a constant fire pattern onto the advancing despoilers. Eisen tried desperately to counter the Contemptor but it did not enter his field of fire. The attack bikes however got a lucky hit with their multi melters exploding the cybot. The remaining Gal Vorbak fell victim to the Gorgon Terminators as a third unit of tactical entered the fray. The despoilers finally clashed with the Alpha Legion tactical in the open benefitting from their additional hand weapons but the traitors held while their support in the building was decimated in the building. As even more Gorgon Terminators advanced to secure the ruins the Alpha Legion had lost their momentum and their consul ordered the retreat to enact the masterplan so far undisclosed to the loyalists. Eisen got a vox link to get further orders.
