The Taking of Sevastopol Station
Battle Summary
April - Covenant of Fire
Sevastopol Station is the collective name for a system of docking stations, defense platforms, and weapon batteries defending Mandeville point TK-421, better known as the “Gate to Golloch”. This point provides the most stable warp translation out of anywhere in the Golloch Cluster. The station was originally constructed to defend the region against the Imperium during the Great Crusade, and was rebuilt post-compliance with trade, resupply, and mercantilism being the main focus. Prior to the news of Isstvan hitting the system, Sevastopol Station was the first and last place visited by most any ship as it came and went into the Golloch Cluster.
Once the ideas of Heresy crept into the Cluster, the Sevastopol Station immediately became a point of high priority by sympathizers of both causes, with immediate rearming of the station and militarizing of the station became top priority, and battles broke out across the station. Whoever controls the Gate of Golloch controls the flow of reinforcements, supplies, and quite possibly the the greater war of Golloch itself.
How Do I Take Part?
To take part in this campaign all you need to do is play one or more games of Warhammer 30k; Horus Heresy, and lodge a skirmish report on this site. You'll want to create an account too so you can track your victories and defeats in the campaign, as well as publish background for your army and Warlord!
Once this phase of the campaign starts you can lodge Skirmish Reports for your games here: http://aus30k.com/30kwiki/index.php?title=Skirmish_Report
Suggested Games
Games fighting for control of the Sevastopol station are best represented by games of Zone Mortalis, representing the many boarding actions, void battles, and corridor fighting that took place. either side can be represented as attacker or defender in these scenarios, representing the volatility of the station’s loyalties from the Heresy’s get go.
The sheer vastness of the Station allows for ZM games of any type you can imagine. assaults on weapon batteries, control of docking ports, fighting across the exterior of the station, and even ship to ship boarding actions would make for great battles in this sector (maybe even ship battles represented by games of BFG?) Regular games can still be played during this phase, representing battles taking place in massive cargo holds, or upon the many micro/dwarf planets nearby that are used as muster stations for incoming fleets and forces.
