History
Cerulea Harbor is a warm planet with a large temperate zone and features long growing seasons and a robust cattle industry. The Harbor Main and Haven Docks are the two major centers of import and export (mostly exporting grain, meat, and other foodstuffs while importing technology and luxury goods). Only the ports of Mariah’s Landing exceed them in wealth and influence in the Shoals. These two trade centers support a small, but wealthy and influential merchant class who can sometimes make their voices heard among the ruling nobles. However, the white walls of Monarch’s Tower serve as a constant reminder of who rules here, and if they do not, then the massive ceramite bastions of the Castellum Revenantus Portum certainly do. Elsewhere on planet, walled towns dot the countryside and scattered villages seem to float on a sea of farm fields and cattle pastures.
Life is not idyllic here, however. The planet was the first in the Cerulean system to be put under the feudal thumb of Umbra Major and is maintained at a medieval level of social progress. Noble lords and ladies rule with the absolute authority granted to them by the Queen of Umbra and it is not unusual to see towering Knight suits stalking the fields and forests with little regard to those toiling beneath their armored feet. A peasant’s life in the Umbral Stars is one of hardship, privation, and soul-crushing loss. Strangely enough, this seems only to strengthen their commitment to their station in life and their desire to support and defend the “natural order of things”. Cerulea Harbor is one of the main culling grounds that Umbra Forge uses to find living “subjects” for transport off-world. These unfortunate peasants leave A life of toil and subjugation only to be taken to a far worse fate of pain and misery in the laboratories of the Necrofabricators.
