History

When the order came to decimate a tenth of their fellow brothers by lottery from Primarch Perturabo himself, It was Battle-brother Apollyon who would volunteer where others prayed not to be picked. The fights however did not go as expected; Apollyon would not falter, surrounded by his fellow kinsmen, he struck them down one by one till no more of his company remained.

The Primarch, impressed by Apollyon's valor and determination, pardoned him from death and was immediately promoted to the rank of Warsmith and given command of a new company. Bloodied and exhausted, Warsmith Apollyon understood something that day, that to be strong, the weak must be culled.

His company would soon learn of Apollyon's philosophy, as the Warsmith was as harsh and as unforgiving as the slaughter that decimated so many fellow Iron Warriors; and was put onto the front lines shortly afterwards. Many of Apollyon's men fell in the bloody campaigns, but those that survived became strong. Apollyon cared not for the dead, they served their purpose.

Later, When the Primarch aligned with Horus the Traitor Warmaster, Apollyon and his men went to work without hesitation, conducting siege campaigns on countless worlds, ravaging supply lines and doing anything in their power to cripple and demoralize the enemies of the Iron Warriors.

Apollyon's 69th Company now seeks to tear down the Fortresses and burn the worlds of those who spurned his people and used them for 'meat-shields' in the Emperor's Campaigns. I am War.
