History
As the area around the Malestrom spiralled towards civil war, the Red Scorpions prepared to unleash their wrath upon the traitors of the Tyrant's Malestrom Warders. Unable to abide the turncoat Astartes the forces of the Red Scorpions deployed several "suppression forces" into the system as a vanguard to an all out attack.
Suppression Force Omega Phi was one of the first Red Scorpion forces to engage the Malestrom Warders in system. However far from being shocked at the thought of Astartes on Astartes combat, the Red Scorpions saw this as an opportunity to once more prove their purity above all else and fell on the traitors with bloody abandon, beating them back and forcing them to retreat towards the core worlds of Badab.
This particular suppression force was deployed aggressively throughout the period of the Badab Wars, and although suffered sustained losses and operational attrition was considered by Imperial theatre commanders to be an incredibly effective weapon against the Tyrant and his traitorous ilk.
Force Disposition
Suppression Force Omega Phi was formed by the Red Scorpion chapter as a rapid assault force capable of fighting against brother Astartes and using superior wargear and tactics to prevail. The Astartes making up Omega Phi are drawn from all companies, and encompass the spectrum of specialities. Like all Red Scorpion forces, Omega Phi deploys with a large contingent of brothers from the apothecarian, these white armoured corpsmen tasked with protecting the sanctity of their chapter's geneseed while on deployment in the field.
Suppression Force Omega Phi was put under the command of Veteran Sergeant Octavio at the outbreak of hostilities between the Imperium and the Tyrant's forces. Later, during the Badab Wars, Octavio was elevated to the rank of Captain through a brevrate promotion bestowed upon him by Chapter Master Culln.
Many of the Astartes chosen to fight as part of the suppression force were veterans from the war on Vraks, and had specific background in fighting Astartes threat level opponents, making them a perfect strike force.
